10.2.1
OPERATION OF MITEL SX-100/SX-200 ANALOG ADAPTIVE
INTEGRATION
This chapter explains the PBX and VP 300 configuration requirements for correct operation of
Mitel SX-100/SX-200 Analog Adaptive Integration.
Mitel Adaptive Integration uses an intelligent connection between the VP 300 and the Mitel PBX.
This intelligent connection is provided via the VP 300 Mitel Interface Card (MIC). The MIC
appears to the Mitel PBX as four Superset 4 display telephones.
The interface between the Mitel SX-100/SX-200 Analog and the VP 300 enables:
•
Message Waiting Indication (MWI) — control of message waiting lamps on PBX stations.
•
Called Party Identification (CPI) — identification of the source and original destination of calls
forwarded to the VP 300.
The VP 300 can process the call and provide call coverage based on the type of call and desired
coverage. In fact, any information that the Mitel SX-100/SX-200 Analog provides to a Mitel
Superset 4 telephone is available to the VP 300. This information includes the following:
•
The trunk number of external calls that have been directed to the VP 300 for primary
answering.
•
The trunk number and the original called extension of external calls that have been forwarded
to the VP 300.
•
The calling and called extension numbers of internal calls that have been forwarded to the
VP 300.
•
The extension number of an internal station calling the VP 300 directly.
For many applications, Personal Assistance and Auto-Transfer to Assistance are recommended. For
details regarding these two features, refer to the Feature Description manual —
CUSTOMIZATION, Personal Assistance.
☞
Personal Assistance operates in conjunction with Called Party Identification in integrated
systems.
This chapter is solely written for the Mitel SX-100 and SX-200 Analog PBXs. Do
not configure other Mitel PBXs using the information in this section. Other Mitel
PBXs are configured differently and will not operate correctly if configured using
the instructions in this chapter.
Mitel Adaptive Integration includes Message Waiting Indication and Called Party Identification.
Message Waiting
Message Waiting Indication enables the VP 300 to activate and
Indication
deactivate telephone message waiting indicators when there are messages
waiting on the VP 300. MWI uses the Superset 4 sub-attendant feature to
perform this function.
