identifies which trunk a call comes in on, different company greetings
may be configured for different trunks.
Upon hearing the greeting, the caller may dial an extension number.
The VP 300 transfers the call to ringing. The caller then hears
ringback until the called party answers or until the PBX forwards the
call to the VP 300 for secondary answering.
Forwarded External
Upon forwarding an external call to the VP 300, the Mitel SX-2000
Calls
provides the VP 300 with a display containing the following
information:
RRR is the reason for forward (CFNA for ring-no-answer forward,
CFB for busy forward, CFFM for always forward). YYY is the
number of the extension from which the call was forwarded. If the
MIC Superset ports do not have the COS option COV Voice Mail
Port enabled, and extension YYY has an assigned name in the PBX
Telephone Directory, the assigned name will appear instead of YYY.
In this case, the extension number must be programmed as part of the
name. Refer to the Naming Conventions section in this chapter. Upon
receiving this display, the MIC uses the Superset 4’s display line
status feature to identify the source of the call. The PBX then
provides a display containing the following information:
XXX is the trunk number that the VP 300 uses to identify trunk
groups.
Upon receiving the forwarded call, the VP 300 prompts the caller
with the status of the extension or with the extension’s greeting, if it
is ON, followed by, “Please leave a private message at the tone, dial
another number, or dial zero for (personal) assistance.”
If the caller dials
0
, the VP 300 transfers the call to the intercept
mailbox defined in the INFORMATION Table for the called
extension’s mailbox or for the incoming call’s trunk group.
If a personal assistant is configured for the called extension’s
mailbox, the VP 300 performs a screened transfer to the personal
assistance position. If that position does not answer or is busy, the VP
300 prompts “Personal assistance is unavailable. Please leave a
private message at the tone for (name) or dial zero for the operator.”
It may be desired to direct some types of calls (e.g., certain trunk
calls and/or calls to selected extensions) immediately to personal
assistance instead of offering messaging or calling options. For this
application, the VP 300 may be configured to transfer unanswered
calls automatically to a personal assistance extension. As a further
