The power filter assembly is sensitive to static electricity. Do not attempt the following
procedures without wearing an anti-static wrist strap.
Removing Power
To remove the assembly, follow the procedures described below.
Filter Assembly
1. Unlock and open the door of the cabinet.
2. Switch OFF the power supply unit.
3. If the cabinet has an AC power source, disconnect the power cord at the
PFA and set the power cord aside.
If the cabinet is DC powered, remove the cover from the PFA and
disconnect the wires from the power source at the terminal block mounted
on the PFA.
4. At the rear of the cabinet, remove four screws securing the top panel to the
cabinet. Remove the panel.
5. Put on the antistatic wrist strap.
6. Remove the three screws securing the PFA to the cabinet.
7. Disconnect the wires from the PFA which lead to the Motherboard
Assembly and set the PFA aside.

The AC PFA does not require tools while the DC PFA requires an open-
end wrench to disconnect the wires.
Installing Power
To install the PFA, follow the instructions below.
Filter Assembly
1. Connect the wires from the Motherboard Assembly to the PFA as shown in
Figure 5-15 and Figure 5-16 according to the voltage requirement for the
cabinet.
2. Secure the PFA to the cabinet with three screws.
3. Bolt on the top panel with the four screws.
4. If the cabinet is equipped with an AC power source, plug the power cord
into the PFA.
If the cabinet is DC powered, reconnect the wires from the power source to
the terminal block (refer to Figure 5-17).
5. Switch the power supply ON.
6. Test the system for proper operation.
