VP 300 HARDWARE
This section provides an overview of the VP 300 hardware. Figure 1-1 shows the VP 300 cabinet shelf
structure. Figures 1-2 through 1-4 show the inside front and rear views of the VP 300.

VP 300 Cabinet
Outer Enclosure
The outer metal enclosure contains three shelves, with slots for various
configurations of disk drives and system cards. The VP 300 cabinet is
designed to allow all normal maintenance to be performed from the
front of the cabinet. All system cabling is connected at the rear of the
cabinet. No side access is necessary.
Each VP 300 cabinet is shipped fully assembled. The cabinet
specifications are as follows:
Height: 37.5 inches (95.3 cm)
Width: 17.5 inches (44.5 cm)
Depth: 19.5 inches (49.5 cm)
Weight: 220 pounds (100 kg) maximum
Clearances: Front: 22 inches (55.9 cm)
Rear: 6 inches (15.2 cm)
Side: 1 inch (2.5 cm)
Top: none
Inner Structure The top shelf (Shelf A) contains the Line Interface Cards (LIC), Fax
Application Processor (Fax card) (Release 7.1 or later), Direct Access
Cards (DAC), Telemarketing Line Cards (TLC), Integration Cards,
Voice Control Unit (VCU), Central Processing Unit (CPU), and the
power supply unit (PSU).

The middle shelf (Shelf B) contains a slot reserved for future use, two
slots for VP 300 System/Voice disk drives, and one slot for the
Load/Backup device.
The bottom shelf (Shelf C) contains four slots for VP 300 Voice disk
drives.
Four fans are located on a slide-out tray in the center of the cabinet
between Shelves A and B.
The washable air filter is inside the front door of the cabinet. Air intake
is from the front. Air exhaust is from the rear and top.
