Remove the rear left footrest holder (

a

46.23)

•

Remove the fasteners for the battery carrier, and
remove the rear brake fluid reservoir, brake hos-
es and battery carrier together with the pressure
modulator.

•

Disconnect the plugs for the gear indicator
switch, temperature sensor at cylinder head,
side stand switch and oxygen sensor, and guide
the cables through downwards.

•

Disconnect the earth (ground) lead at the upper
cross-tube and the leads at the alternator and
starter motor.

–

Remove rear cross-tube (

a

–

Remove clutch slave cylinder (

a

21.9).

•

Guide the clutch line through upwards.

•

Separate the plug connectors for the left/right
handlebars.

•

Remove the left handlebar with multifunction
switch, together with the holder for the left radia-
tor, the clutch line and the clutch slave cylinder.

•

Remove the right handlebar with multifunction
switch.

•

Disconnect the plug of the front ABS sensor.

•

Detach the electronic equipment box and the
wiring harness from the frame (arrows) and re-
move.

–

Remove the telescopic fork with the front wheel
(

a

31.5).

Note:

Make sure that oil cannot escape from the telescop-
ic fork.

Remove fork bridge (

a

31.9).

–

Remove front suspension strut (

a

31.15).

•

Tie the leading link up to the frame.

•

Detach the cross-member from the frame at left
and right.

•

Release the gearbox fasteners from the frame,
holding at the left to prevent from turning.

Important:

Make sure that clearance between gearbox and
frame at the right is correct.

•

Lift the frame with leading link clear of the other
components.

•

Remove mounted parts.
