•

Press the guide rail with timing chain and bush-
ing onto the pivot pin (3).

Note:

When installing the guide rail, do not allow the timing
chain to mesh with the crankshaft chain sprocket.

•

Install the snap rings (1) and washers (2) for the
guide rail on the two bearing journals.

•

Install guide rail (7).

•

Install the inlet camshaft chain sprocket so that
the timing chain is taut at the guide rail.

•

Fully tighten screw (5).

•

Install guide rail (7).

•

Press the tensioning rail (4) onto the pivot pin and
install the washer and snap ring.

•

Install the exhaust camshaft chain sprocket so
that the timing chain is as taut as possible be-
tween the sprockets.

•

Fully tighten screw (6).

•

Tighten the bearing cap with sliding rail (7).

•

Remove the aligning device,

•

Tighten the chain sprockets, counter-holding at
hexagon of the camshaft.

Tightening torque:
