Bleeding the front left brake caliper

•

Connect the brake bleeding device to the bleed
screw (1) in the

left

brake caliper.

•

Open the bleed screw by half a turn.

•

Draw off brake fluid until it emerges clear and
free from air bubbles.

•

Close the bleed screw in the left brake caliper.

Bleeding the front right brake caliper

•

Connect the brake bleeding device to the bleed
screw on the

right

brake caliper.

•

Open the bleed screw by half a turn.

•

Draw off brake fluid until it emerges clear and
free from air bubbles.

•

Close the bleed screw in the left brake caliper.

•

Disconnect the brake bleeding device from the
bleed screw.

•

Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure. Pay particular attention to the following:

Note:

The brake-fluid level depends on brake-pad wear.

•

Top up the brake fluid in the handlebar reservoir
to the specified level (

00.57).

Note:

Wipe the rim of the reservoir, the rubber diaphragm
and the cover to remove brake fluid, and carefully
re-assemble the components.

•

Fit brake pads.

•

Bed in the brake pads.

•

Check the operation of the brake system.

Check the brake fluid level in the handlebar re-
servoir, top up if necessary (

00.57).

Attention:

Dispose of old brake fluid in an environmentally-fri-
endly manner.
