Installing generator

•

Position the generator (5) on the intermediate
flange.

•

Tighten the three fasteners (4).

–

Lower the frame (

a

46.31).

•

Connect the flat plug (3).

•

Attach the alternator cable. Tighten nut (2) and
attach cap (1).

•

Connect the cable to the starter.

•

Connect the earth (ground) lead to the upper
cross-tube.

•

Connect the plug for the side stand switch.

•

Connect the plug for the oxygen sensor.

•

Connect the plug for the temperature sensor at
the cylinder head.

•

Connect the plug for the gear indicator switch.

Important:

Tighten the three fasteners at the clutch slave cylin-
der uniformly and in diagonally opposite sequence,
with the bleed line open at the bleed screw.

•

Install the clutch slave cylinder.

•

Secure the cable tie.

•

Install the clutch bleed line and secure it to the
frame.

–

Install the left/right radiators with fans (

a

17.7).

–

Install the lower cross-tube (

a

46.25).

–

Install drive shaft and swinging arm (

a

33.21).

–

Install the rear wheel drive (

a

33.19).

–

Remove lifter from engine sump.

–

Install fuel injection rail (

a

13.7).

–

Install intake air silencer (

a

13.6).

d

Warning:

Comply with safety precautions when handling or
working with fuel.

–

Install the fuel tank (

a

16.5).

Important:

Connect the positive battery terminal first, then the
negative terminal.
Note correct installed position of positive terminal.

Install the battery (

a

•

Install the battery retaining plate.

•

Install the tool compartment.

Install the complete fairing (

a

46.5).

–

Install the seat.
