Removing/installing fuel injec-

tion rail

–

Take off the left side section of the fairing
(

46.10).

•

Remove air outlet guide for left radiator.

Warning:

Comply with safety precautions when handling or
working with fuel; note that the fuel lines are pressu-
rised.

•

Use hose clamps,

BMW No. 13 3 010

, to close

off fuel hoses (3).

•

Release hose clips of fuel hoses (3). Pull off the
fuel hoses.

•

Disengage the vacuum hose from cable tie (1).
Open the cable ties.

•

Disconnect all four plugs of injection valves (4).

•

Slacken screws and remove fasteners.

•

Pull the injection rail with the injectors out of the
intake stubs.

Note:

Make sure that the O-ring at the injector is in good
condition. Grease O-rings lightly.

Note:

[Activated charcoal filter]

Note the position of the

plug for the fuel-evaporation control valve (2).

•

Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure.

Tightening torque:

Screw for fuel injection rail to engine block .... 9 Nm
