Removing/installing brake lever 

fitting

–

Take off mirror (

a 

00.22).

–

Remove grip tube (

a 

32.6).

e

 Important:

Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with 
painted parts of the motorcycle, because brake fluid 
destroys paint.

–

Drain the brake system (

a 

34.16).

•

Disconnect brake line (1) from brake lever 
fitting (2).

•

Disconnect Bowden cable (3) at adjusting 
screw (4) of brake lever fitting (2).

•

Remove cover (5) from brake lever fitting (2).

•

Remove brake light switch (6) from brake lever 
fitting (2).

•

Loosen fastener (arrow) for brake lever fitting (2) 
at handlebar tube (7).

•

Pull brake lever fitting (2) off handlebar tube (7).

•

Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure. Pay particular attention to the following:

 Important:

Make sure that lines and cables are correctly routed.

 Note:

Note correct installed position of brake light 
switch (6).

•

Align the marks on brake lever fitting (2) and han-
dlebar tube (7) (arrow).

•

Tighten brake lever fitting (2).

Add brake fluid and bleed
