Start the Windows Explorer and select the
CD-ROM drive.

by double-

clicking on the name of the file.

Follow the instructions given.

Viewer software to check that FireWire

. If you display the Device Manager (right-click the My Computer icon, select Properties,

click the Hardware tab and then the Device Manager button), the icon

FireBoard400

(the name of the FireWire driver) is marked with a yellow Exclamation mark. In

principle, this means that the device is not working properly. Reinstalling the FireWire driver does
not solve the problem.

The reason for this is that there is a minor mismatch between Microsoft Windows 2000 and the
FireWire driver used by the CardioMD acquisition software. However, this does not affect Fire-
Wire functionality. To ascertain that the FireWire communication between the gantry and the ac-
quisition PC is working properly, run the FireViewer program that is installed along with the
driver. See instructions in Chapter 5

Installing the FireWire driver on Windows XP

Note

. This section applies to acquisition PC’s running Windows XP.

Procedure Details

1.

Insert the CardioMD software CD in the
acquisition PC’s CD-ROM drive.

2.

Close all programs on the acquisition PC.

3.

Start the Windows Explorer and select the
CD-ROM drive.

4.

Select the directory

FireWire OHCI

driver version 3.0 for laptop
PC

5.

Run the file

6.
