Spatial Filter
Description
Controls the number of samples gathered
for a single color flow vector.
Smooths color information so that it is less
grainy. It averages the color information
out over time.
Benefits
Allows for the improvement of the color
sensitivity.
Smooths color information.
Values
Soft Menu values are VrySml, SMALL,
MID and LARGE.
NOTE: The “CFM Packet Size” is a
parameter that can be preset in the Set
Up/Custom Display menu page 6.
Off, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
NOTE: The “CFM Spatial Filter” is a
parameter that can be preset in the Set
Up/Custom Display menu page 6.
Affects on
Other Controls
When the packet size is decreased, the
frame rate is increased at the expense of
CFM image quality. When the packet size
is increased, CFM image quality is
improved at the expense of frame rate.
Note: This function does not work in Color
M-Mode or B/CFM with Pulsed Doppler.
Affects frame rate. The slower the spatial
filter averaging, the faster the frame rate;
the higher the spatial filter averaging, the
slower the frame rate.
