In the following configuration, your host name and domain are configured in the S7-1500
CPU in addition to its client ID. When assigning DHCP addresses, the CPU supplies the
client ID as well as the host name and the domain to the DHCP server.. The DHCP server
receives the information to update, for example a DNS server with the address data of the
CPU.

For this configuration, you must first activate the host name and domain configuration in
STEP 7. You then configure the host name and domain in STEP 7.

You configure in STEP 7 that the CPU gets the domain via DHCP.

You can configure the host name in STEP 7 or assign it via the user program.
In the following configuration, the host name is also configured in the S7-1500 CPU in
addition to the client ID. When assigning DHCP addresses, the CPU supplies the client ID as
well as the host name to the DHCPv4 server. The DHCP server supplies the domain option
to the CPU.
