Replacing the Boards in the ISQ 7000 Mass Spectrometer

ISQ 7000 Hardware Manual

Thermo Scientific

12. Install the controller interface board by aligning the two connectors on the bottom of the 

board to the connectors on the distribution board beneath it. It will drop into the slot 
when it is in the right position.

13. Push the board down into the connectors.

14. Reattach the support bracket.

15. Reattach the top cover and left side panels and tighten the screws.

16. Restart your system by following the instructions in 

“Restarting the System” 

on 

page 165

Note  

The new PC communication board will not have tune files or detector gain 

calibration information stored in memory, so you will need to load a good tune file and 
save it to the instrument in manual tune. A factory tune file must also be saved to the 
instrument by loading a good default tune file and then pressing the 

Alt

 key at the same 

time as selecting save to instrument. Once the tune file is saved to the PC communication 
board memory, a default tune should be run with a clean EI ion source to set the detector 
gain calibration.
