Note: A DOS mouse driver must be installed if you plan to control TaskLink
with a mouse. To access TaskLink commands using the keyboard, press
Alt
, then press the highlighted letter. Use the arrow and Tab keys to move
around.

Select programmer and set up options.

From TaskLink’s main screen, select Options (Alt+O), press T, select
UniSite-xpi
then press OK.

Press H (Handler Type), select No handler used, then press OK.

Press P (Programmer Port). Select COM1 (or COM2), 9600, None, 8,
and 1. Select None for Host Port and Port options. Press OK

After the Self Test LED goes out, from TaskLink’s main screen select

menu appears, indicating that the PC is in Terminal mode.
11. Press M (More Commands), C (Configure System), E (Edit), then C
(Communication).
12. Select User Menu Port. Press the space bar to change the T to an R,
then press Enter.
13. Move the cable from Terminal on the programmer’s back panel to
Remote.
14. Press F2. If the cursor moves back to Communication on the left side
of the T-bar menu, the operation was successful.
15. Press I (Interface), then Y to change the Power on CRC Mode to Yes.
16. Press F2, F2, S, then Enter to save the parameters.
17. Press F1, M, then R to return the programmer to Remote mode.
18. Press Alt+F1 to return to TaskLink, then press Ctrl+F1 to confirm
that the programmer is communicating with the PC.
19. From the TaskLink main menu, select Utilities, then select Device
List
Update to update the TaskLink algorithm database so it matches
the current version of the programmer algorithms.
HiTerm (Terminal
Emulation Software —
serial mode only)
Written especially for UniSite, HiTerm terminal emulation software is a
VT-100 terminal emulator that is required to perform several specialty
operations. This interface also allows you to download files to UniSite-xpi
at up to 115.2K baud on the serial communication port. HiTerm is
included on the TaskLink for Windows CD and is installed when
TaskLink for Windows is installed on your PC. HiTerm is also provided
on the Utility disk.
(Legacy) Installing HiTerm
You can run HiTerm from a floppy disk or hard disk. These instructions
tell you how to install HiTerm on a hard disk. If you want to run HiTerm
from a floppy disk, consult the HiTerm User Manual.
