Memory Editor
Commands
Only certain keyboard commands may be used in the memory editor.
The allowed commands are listed in the following table.
Command Keystrokes Description
Jump to address C
TRL
+ B Moves the cursor to a specific memory
address. When this command is
selected, the cursor moves to the Jump
to Address field. Enter the address you
want to jump to and press E
NTER
.
Delete byte C
TRL
+ D Deletes the entire byte with 8-bit data
and deletes the entire word with 16-bit
data. All the data after the current
character position is moved one address
position down. The end of RAM has an
FF inserted. If a disk file is used, the file
gets smaller.
Exchange C
TRL
+ E Allows you to search for a certain
pattern and replace it with another
pattern:
1. Press C
TRL
+ E. The cursor moves to
the Exchange field at the bottom of
the screen.
2. Type the pattern to search for (any
hex value up to 8 digits), followed by
E
NTER
. The cursor then moves to the
With field at the bottom of the screen.
3. Type the pattern you want inserted
in place of the existing pattern,
followed by E
NTER
. If the pattern
cannot be found, a message is
displayed and the cursor remains in
its original position.
When exchange data is entered in 4-bit
mode, the upper nibble of data is blank
so only up to four characters can be
entered in the field.
Next Block C
TRL
+ N Displays the next block of memory data.
Prev Block C
TRL
+ P Displays the previous block of memory
data.
Restore Block C
TRL
+ U Returns the current page of data to its
original state (before editing began). The
page is restored only if there have been
no paging commands.
