FILE ERROR: Disk is write-protected.
The disk cannot be written to because it is write-protected. Move the write-protect slide so that the hole
through the disk is blocked, or use another disk.
FILE ERROR: Error in sector preamble.
This error appears when UniSite-xpi detects an error with the format of a disk. Use a different disk or
reformat the existing disk and try the operation again.
FILE ERROR: Mass Storage Module is unusable, (requires formatting).
This message is displayed if the Mass Storage Module gave an error when it was accessed. This may
indicate that the Mass Storage Module requires formatting. Perform the Mass Storage format operation. If
the error persists, contact your nearest Data I/O Service Center.
FILE ERROR: No disk in drive.
This message appears when UniSite-xpi is trying to access a disk file but the disk drive is empty. Insert the
disk with the file to be used.
FILE ERROR: Sector not found.
The programmer was unable to find the desired sector during disk operation. Try a different disk.
FILE ERROR: Source file does not exist.
This message appears during the Copy File operation if the file that you want to copy is NOT on the disk
installed in the disk drive. Insert the disk that has the source file into the disk drive and attempt the
operation again.
FILE ERROR: Track not found.
This message appears if UniSite-xpi cannot find the disk track associated with the system file, or cannot
find the data needed to support whatever action you just requested. If you try the operation again and the
error message reappears, a new disk (or a new copy of whatever software or data the unit needs) must be
used.
File must have ".EXE" extension.
The file name must have a “.EXE” extension to execute as a user program. Rename the file and try the
operation again.
File name too long for HiTerm.
The file name that was entered on the host command line has too many characters. A legal file name
consists of up to eight characters in the name, and up to three characters in the extension. A path may
precede the filename; however, the length of the path together with the filename must not be greater than
25 characters.

This message appears within the fuse editor, vector editor, or when the under/overblow feature is
selected. The file that you have selected is not in a format that is compatible with the feature that you want
to use. If you want to use the fuse editor, and the data file you have is not formatted for the device you
have selected, typing C reformats the data file to be compatible with the device.
