Stepper motor output stages
Since 1/2012, the PMA is delivered with the
newly developped M5A output stages,
which replace the M4A output stages,
which were built-in previously [196]. Ma-
chines, which have been assembled before
1/2012 can be retrofitted with M5A output
stages.


Each of the three end stage circuit boards
[197] controls one of the three stepper mo-
tors. Each board forms a unit with a heat
sink. The heat sinks are each attached to
the machine´s base plate with two screws.

3 mm Allen key
•
Torx screwdriver size 15 (machines built
until 6/2006)
Dismantling
1. Open (DPM/PEM) or dismantle (ALX)
the rear hood.

See chapter Housing on page 8.
2. Disconnect the cable from the board.
3. Undo the fastening screws (2 screws) on
the board heat sink. Remove the board.
Assembly
To assemble the device, follow the steps in
the reverse order. Make sure to


– (M4A) Circuit board version
– (M4A) PIC version
– (M4A, M5A) Jumper setting for motor
type
– (M5A) Jumper setting for rotation
direction (RH/LH machine)


respectively Electronics Gen. 3 , chapter
"Output stage board".
