Installation Manual

Network Element Startup and Provisioning

Initial Provisioning

Before Beginning 
Provisioning

The following procedure MUST be done immediately after the software installation 
has taken place to avoid travel to all connected sites repeatedly:

NOTE:

Failure to Initialize the system using the following procedures could cause 
problems trying to provision the parameters listed in the following section.

1 Execute 

CONFIGURATION.Initialize.System, AID=All, 

PH=3 (Reset).

Requirement: The command completes. The full reset 
time is about 10 minutes. The reset will cause the CMC 
to be disconnected from the network element.

NOTE:

Under certain circumstances, a 
CONFIGURATION.Initialize.System, AID=All, 
PH=3 will cause an erroneous OA-1A alarm. This 
alarm can be cleared with a 
CONFIGURATION.Update command. 

2 

Log back into the network element.
