(continued)
NOTE:
For an OLS to be initially equipped with a single OT and later to be
expanded to a second OT, the OLS and OT should be installed with the
Dual Reset and Equipage cable G812, G813, or G814. The total cable
length between the OLS, OT Bay # 1, and the eventual OT Bay # 2 must be
planned such that the length of LAN Cable 1 (G801, G851, G853, and
G855) and the eventual LAN Cable 2 (G806, G807, G808, G809) will not
exceed 200 ft. The appropriate Dual Reset and Equipage cable should be
chosen based on the maximum distance between the OLS and either OT
Bay # 1 or OT Bay # 2.
When installing the OLS and OT Bay # 1, the LAN path must be terminated at the
last OT Bay # 1 shelf at backplane connector J7 using termination plug
ED-7G045-20 G2. This termination plug must remain in place for single OT bay
operation.
The OT Bay # 1 to OT Bay # 2 LAN cable is to be routed and left unconnected.
The unused branch of the Dual Reset and Equipage cable may be coiled and
stored until needed with no special termination required on the other end.
When OT Bay # 2 is installed, the OT Bay # 1 LAN termination plug is removed
from J7 on the OT Bay # 1 backplane and the appropriate LAN Cable 2 group is
installed. The previous unused branch of the dual reset and equipage cable is
connected to OT Bay # 2, and the Group G803, G804, or G805 cable of proper
length is installed between the OLS an OT Bay # 2.
One OLS Shelf/
Two OT Systems
Table 5-24 lists the cables available for interconnecting one OLS shelf and two OT
systems. There are four types of cables, available in three or four different
lengths. Only one of each type of cable is needed.
The cable with group numbers 801, 851, 853, and 855 and the cable with group
numbers 806, 807, 808, and 809 are both LAN cables. The combined length of
these cables in the system can not exceed 200 feet.
