Wired Cable Installation

CIT (CMC) DTE Cables Installation

Description

The WaveStar OLS 40G supplies access to remote CenterLink Management 
Console (CMC) PCs through a local area network or modem connection to the 
CIT-DTE port.

This connection to the Optical Translator System Shelf is not supported in any of 
the WaveStar OLS 40G Releases; however, in Release 3, information may be 
transferred from the OT to the OLS provided the OT Controller Option is installed.

The CIT-DTE cable connects from J17 to a local area network or modem which 
must meet the following requirements:

■

Must be able to transmit at 300, 1200, 2400, 4800, or 9600 baud.

■

Must have an RS-232 DCE interface port.

■

Must be configured for 8 bit data bytes with 1 start bit and 1 stop bit.

■

Must not use the DSR lead.
