Installation Manual

Powering

WaveStar OLS 40G & OT Powering

Description

Two -48V DC power feeders connect to the WaveStar OLS 40G shelf fuses. From
the fuses, power is channeled through a filter to the backplane of the shelf and to
the circuit packs.

Cabinet Powering

WaveStar OLS 40G/OT multiple shelf combinations mounted in cabinets have two
power feeders to the Battery Distribution and Fuse Bay (BDFB), an A and a B
feeder. Each feeder has breakouts in the cabinet for each shelf.

Miscellaneously
Mounted Shelf
Powering

WaveStar OLS 40G and OT miscellaneously mounted shelves have two power
feeders to the BDFB for each shelf (with one exception), an A and a B feeder. The
OT List 10 has two feeders with breakouts for each shelf.

NOTE:

The red power lead connects to –48V DC source. The white power lead
connects to battery return. If a black lead with a red band near the
connector is provided, this lead connects to –48V DC source.

Integrated Bay
Powering

The integrated bay consists of three shelves: one WaveStar OLS 40G shelf, one
OT system shelf, and one OT complementary 1 shelf. The integrated bay has two
power feeders to the BDFB, an A and a B feeder. Each feeder has three
breakouts, one for each shelf.

Rack and Stack
Powering

The rack and stack configurations have A and B power feeders leading from the
BDFB to a fuse panel in Bays 2 and 4. From the fuse panels, cables are run to the
individual shelves in each bay.
