Power Cable Installation
Multiple OLS Shelf Configurations
Introduction This section describes the power cable selection and installation for systems with
multiple OLS shelves in the same cabinet or equipment bay frame.
For power cable installation information of OT shelves, OLS shelves and OT
shelves in the same bay, or single OLS shelves, refer to the appropriate section of
this chapter.
Available Power
Cables Table 4-1 on page 4-4 lists power cables available for installing a multiple
WaveStar OLS 40G shelf arrangement.

OLS Power Cable
Connection The OLS uses a Y-cable to power both shelves in the bay or cabinet. Install as
follows:

CAUTION:
Leave the fuses out or breakers off until performing the steps in Chapter 7,
Powering , of this manual.

Step Action
1 Turn the power breakers off, or do not install fuses, at the battery
distribution fuse board (BDFB).
2 Verify the circuit packs are not installed in the shelves.
