Installation Manual

Power Cable Installation

Power Requirements

Description

The OLS and the OT are both powered by –48 volt direct current. Since redundant
power is used to ensure maximum availability of the terminal, two battery power
feeds are required for each terminal (feed A is Red and feed B is Blue).

Specific Power
Requirements

The power requirements for OLS and OT are as follows:

■

Two feeders (A and B) are required for powering the equipment.

■

Each independent feeder must supply –48 volts direct current and a return.

■

Each feeder capacity must be 20 amperes at the battery distribution fuse
board (BDFB).

For information on maximum power dissipation and current drains per feeder for
the OT and OLS shelves, refer to the Applications, Planning and Ordering Guide.
