Logical Object: EQPT
An Equipment Failure (EQPT-FAIL) alarm is raised when diagnostic circuit detects a card ASIC failure. This
alarm indicates that a hardware or communication failure has occurred on the reporting card.
Clear the EQPT-FAIL Alarm
SUMMARY STEPS
1.
Complete the
Protection Switching, Lock Initiation, and Clearing, on page 443
procedure on page 390 if
traffic is active on the alarmed port so that you can switch traffic away from it.
2.
Complete the
Reset a Card in CTC, on page 449
procedure for the reporting card.
3.
Verify that the reset is complete and error-free and that no new related alarms appear in CTC. Verify the
LED status. A green ACT/SBY LED indicates an active card. An amber ACT/SBY LED indicates a
standby card.
4.
If CTC reset does not clear the alarm, complete the
Remove and Reinsert (Reseat) Any Card , on page
procedure for the reporting card.
5.
If the physical reseat of the card fails to clear the alarm, complete the
Physically Replace a Card, on page
procedure for the reporting card.
