Explanation of the parameters
Parameters
Connection check
In manual operation a connection check always takes place between DBG11B and the
inverter or between USS21A/USB11A and the inverter. Parameter P812 RS485 Time-
out delay has no function. The inverter must receive a valid RS485 telegram within the
fixed time interval of t = 500 ms. If the time is exceeded, the drive is stopped at the emer-
gency stop ramp and error message F43 "RS485 timeout" is issued.

Reference travel
Reference travel is used to establish a machine zero to which all absolute positioning
commands refer. You can select different reference travel strategies in P903 Reference
travel type . These strategies define appropriate travel modes, for example to search for
a reference cam. Based on the reference point established through the reference trav-
el, you can use P900 Reference offset to shift the machine zero according to the equa-
tion
Machine zero = reference po reference offset
The speeds for the necessary travel movements according to reference travel type are
set with P901 Reference speed 1 / P902 Reference speed 2 .

Reference offset (zero offset) is used to determine the machine zero (origin). The follow-
ing applies:
Machine zero = reference po reference offset
The reference offset always refers to the encoder set via P941 Source actual position
when the modulo function is deactivated (P960 = OFF).
This can be either the motor encoder or an external encoder. The corresponding actual
positions are indicated by IPOS
plus®
variables.

The error is automatically reset and the drive enabled when the inverter receives a valid
telegram again.

gram, which may be active, can cause unexpected movements and place unwanted
loads on the mechanical driveline. It is essential that you are familiar with the

manual to make the setting for these parameters.
