IMPORTANT:
The IP addresses for management interface of CPU blade/switch
module are assigned based on the "base address". The consecutive
addresses from the specified "base address" to "base a 13"
(or "base address" to "base a 17" when UPS management
feature is used) must not be duplicated with IP addresses assigned to
other devices.
In use of the UPS management, the "base a 14" to "base
a 17" are assigned to the LAN for the UPS management.
The UPS to which a specific IP address is assigned cannot be
defined. If you are not using the UPS management or intend to use
the UPS management by specifying an IP address directly to UPS,
the IP addresses ranging from the "base a 14" to "base
a 23" are not managed by the EM card. (The EM card
firmware revision 04.00 or later is required.)
By the default setting of the UPS, an IP address is assigned to the
UPS through DHCP. The IP addresses assigned to the UPS are valid
for 24 hours at the longest. If you assign a new IP address for the
UPS, the change may not be reflected immediately. To reflect the
change immediately, set the network configuration for UPS to
"manual", then set it to DHCP. The newly specified IP addresses are
assigned to the UPS.
The IP addresses assigned to the switch module are valid for 24
hours at the longest (depending on the switch module). If you
reassign the IP address for the switch module, the change may not
be reflected immediately. In such a case, turn off then on the AC
power to restart the system, or remove then insert the switch module.
For the CPU blade, the IP addresses are automatically reassigned
when the setting has been changed.
If the IP address assigned to the UPS is expired while the
communication between the EM card and the UPS is being lost, an
IP address will not be re-assigned to the UPS through DHCP when
reconnected with the EM card. In this case, you need to reset the
SNMP card of the UPS.

NOTE:
The required number of IP addresses can be minimized by
specifying the IP addresses that the DHCP distribute to every blade slot
and switch module slot. (This requires EM card firmware revision
04.00 or later). See "Configuration File" in Chapter 3 or
"Configuration" in Chapter 4.
