Change Switch Mode
To select a switch mode, click the [Switch] button in the [Change Switch Mode] field.
The selected mode is stored in the switch module, not in the EM card.
IMPORTANT:
When the switch mode is changed, the switch
configuration information stored in switch module is erased. It is
recommended to make a backup copy of switch configuration
information before changing the switch mode.
NOTE:
[Change Switch Mode] appears only when the switch module
has the mode select feature. If the switch module does not have this
feature or no selectable switch mode exists, [Change Network Switch
mode] will be blank.
Switch Configuration Auto Restore
The configuration of switch module can be restored automatically from the EM card when
the switch module is installed.
Select "Enable" or "Disable", then click the [Apply] button to enable/disable auto restore
feature.
IMPORTANT
:
When "Switch Configuration Auto Restore" is enabled and the
switch configuration is stored on the EM card, the stored switch
configuration information is applied automatically in the following
cases.
– When switch module is installed in Blade Enclosure
– When EM card is started (or restarted)
– When EM card is switched to another EM card by switchover
feature
With [N8406-040(F)] 8G FC switch, "Switch Configuration Auto
Restore" feature is applied only when switch module is installed in
Blade Enclosure (except when the same switch is installed or
removed).
If the current switch mode differs from that stored in the switch
configuration, the EM card will change the switch mode, then apply
the switch configuration.
NOTE:
"Switch Configuration Auto Restore" is available only on the
switch module that supports restoration of switch configuration.
