vIO Control
MAC Addresses and WWN (World Wide Name)s of I/O ports and serial number and UUID of CPU
blade can be virtualized by using vIO Control. This is a part of Boot Control feature. Using this,
there is no need to reconfigure the settings of the network or storage devices after replacing blades
or I/O cards.
NOTES:
The vIO Control is not available on 120Bb-6, 120Bb-m6, 120Bb-d6,
140Ba-10, and B140a-T.
The option cards (I/O cards) available for the vIO Control are as
listed below:
– [N8403-018] Fibre Channel Controller (2ch)
– [N8403-021] 1000BASE-T (2ch) Adapter (iSCSI-compliant)
– [N8403-022] 1000BASE-T (4ch) Adapter (iSCSI-compliant)

vIO Control in the NEC SigmaSystemCenter managing system
Using vIO Control in the system managed by NEC SigmaSystemCenter makes it possible to
reducing downtime and management cost by automizing N+1 failover, applying, releasing or
changing boot configurations appropriately depending on the work load of each blade in the system.
