When restoring the configuration that was backed up in other Blade Enclosure
(when using the EM card that have been used in other Blade Enclosure):
When restoring the configuration that was backed up in a Blade Enclosure onto another Blade
Enclosure in the same network, vIO information must be configured or canceled appropriately.
Otherwise, a conflict of vIO information will occur. For how the conflict occurs and how to avoid it,
see the description below and examples in Figure 2.
1) Apply virtual MAC (A) to the blade slot No. 3, power on the relevant blade server,
then back up the EM card configuration.
2) Restore the configuration backed up in Step 1 to the Blade Enclosure in initial state
(where the vIO Control feature is not used).
3) Power on the blade server in blade slot No. 3 of the Blade Enclosure of restore
destination.
If a blade server installed in Blade Enclosure of backup source and another server installed in Blade
Enclosure of restore destination are connected to the same network, the vIO information of backup
source conflicts with that of restore destination when the above steps are performed.
When Blade Enclosures are placed in the same network, change settings for backup source before
restoration. Or restore configuration while any of the blade servers in the Blade Enclosure of restore
destination are not running, and provide settings for destination appropriately before running the
server.
