Minimum number of UPSs required for operation
Specify the minimum number of UPSs required to operate the blade system. When the
number of normal UPSs decreases due to an event such as interruption of input power to
the UPSs, CPU blades can be shut down. If the number of normal UPSs becomes lower
than the value specified here, shutting down the CPU blades is started.
If you do not want to shut down CPU blades automatically, set this value to "0." The
default setting is "0" (disable automatic blade shutdown).
NOTES:
To shutdown the CPU blade automatically, your OS must be able to
shutdown with the Power button.
If the CPU blade is unable to be shutdown with the Power button,
this feature will not shutdown the system. See the topic "Unable to
shutdown the OS by UPS Management feature or Power Linkage
with NAS Blade feature" in the Troubleshooting Chapter.
IMPORTANT:
As described above, when the number of normal UPSs
decreases due to an event such as interruption of input power to the
UPSs, CPU blades can be shut down automatically in the sequence as
shown in the figure below. After the power to the UPS is recovered, the
CPU blade can be started automatically.
