You may need to update the CPU blade BIOS or the IO card firmware to use the vIO
Control. Refer to the NEC corporate site for detailed information.
If the vIO Control is enabled, the setting of virtual MAC address and virtual WWN are
retained on blade server or option card even after the blade server or card has been
removed.
If you intend to use the blade server or option card on any other system, be sure to
perform the following steps to clear the setting before removing the blade server or option
card. Otherwise, the virtual MAC addresses and virtual WWN may conflict with others.
1. Power off the blade server.
2. Apply [default] of Boot Config on EM Web console.
3. Power on the blade server.
4. After POST has been completed, power off the blade server.
5. Remove the blade server or option card.
If you restore the EM configuration file including enabled vIO Control feature, be sure to
view the Boot Control screen in the web console. If “Please (re)boot” is displayed for any
of the blade servers, reboot the relevant servers.
If you intend to restore the EM configuration file which was backed up with vIO Control

that are using vIO Control to any other Blade Enclosure, vIO information may conflict. To
avoid conflict, perform either of the following:
–
First make a backup copy of EM configuration file, clear the vIO configuration of
