Line 1 Connection
Procedures Follow the steps in the table below to make Line 1 connections:
Step Action Reference
1 The APSD feature must be disabled in order to measure
the OA receive power and select the appropriate
attenuation for the receiving amplifier. Disable the APSD
at this time. See Danger
above.
2 Clean and then connect the other end of the above
jumper to the LGX location.
3 Select an OA IN LBO based on the measured power and
the number of OC-48 wavelengths (channels) present. LBO Selection
Procedures.
4 Install the appropriate LBO in 1A OA IN connector if
necessary.
NOTE:
For Single OA applications (no receive OA), there
will be no LBO used on the ODU input. Connect
the LC jumper to the ODU input and proceed to
Step 6.
5 Connect the jumper to the 1A OA IN connector.
Requirement: The 1A OA FAULT LED shall stop
flashing within 1 minute.
6 For single OA applications, place a 5dB LBO in the input
port of the TLM circuit pack in position 1A.
