Installation Manual

Local Installation Testing

Final Operations

Final Check

Complete the following checks before proceeding to integration testing.

n

Verify the APSD feature is ENABLED by entering the command:
SECURITY.Retrieve.System. If it is disabled, enable it at this time using the
SECURITY.Enter.System command.

n

Verify that the OTU/QOTUs are mounted in the correct slots

n

Verify that the correct codes are in these slots.

n

All OTU/QOTUs should be unseated in their slots.

n

All fibers are disconnected from the OTU/OTPMs.

n

Dust caps are on the input and output ports of each OTU/OTPM.

n

OTU/OTPM fibers have protective caps on them.

This completes the start up and local installation testing of the WaveStar OLS 40G
and OT. Proceed to the next section for further installation and testing.
