WaveStar OLS 40G Fiber and Circuit Pack Installation

Rack and Stack Configuration

Description

This subsection covers the installation of fibers, fiber labels, and circuit packs for 
OLS systems that have been installed in a two-bay, three-bay, or five-bay rack and 
stack configuration. 

It is presumed that the installer is familiar with the rack and stack configuration 
and the bay locations and designations for the given configuration. In summary, a 
two-bay configuration contains an integrated OLS/OT bay in position one and a 
bay with two OT shelves in bay position two. A three-bay system is comprised of 
an integrated OLS/OT bay in position one, three OT shelves in the bay in position 
two, and an additional OT Complimentary Shelf 2 in bay 3. A five-bay system 
contains the same first two bays as the three-bay system, plus has an OLS/OT 
integrated bay in position 5 and another OT bay (of three OT shelves) in bay 
position 4, but has two OT Complimentary 2 Shelves in bay 3. If additional 
information is required, refer to the Drawings: NT-00405-30, or to the chapter of 
this manual which covers the physical installation of the rack and stack bays.

Circuit Pack Equip

Refer to the appropriate subsection of this chapter for circuit pack placement for 
the different types of possible configurations of the rack and stack system. Do not 
install fibers at this time.
