CAUTION:
Do not connect fibers to OTU circuit packs at this time. Fibers may have
power levels that could damage OTU receivers.
Fiber Protection For protection, place the installed fibers in the split polyethylene fiber protection
tubing supplied in the installation kit. Refer to Figure 6-21 and Figure 6-2 for
individual OT shelf fiber routing.

Step Action
6 All fibers should dress from their OTU connectors down through the
notches immediately below the connectors at the bottom edge of the
shelf then horizontally along the shelf trough to the appropriate side.
7 After fibers are dressed, insert a fiber protective strip (fiber gasket
comcode 848757720) into the fiber trough. Make sure all fibers are
behind this strip, not under it, as to avoid pinching the fibers. Verify all
fibers are away from the hinge of the shelf before closing the shelf cover.
