Line 2 Connection
Procedures Use the following steps to connect Line 2:
Step Action Reference
1 Clean and then connect 2A OA OUT to an optical power
meter. Test point 1S on Figure 10-2 on page 10-12.
2 Verify the OA Output Power by referring Table 10-4 on
page 10-11.
3 Clean and then connect the fiber jumper to 2A OA OUT
and to the outside plant fiber at the LGX. See test point
1S in Figure 10-2 on page 10-12.
4 For 7-8 span applications, place a 3 dB LBO on the OA
OUT port before fibering.
5 Execute the CONFIGURATION.Retreive.Optical_Line
command and record the CLF (Channel Loading Factor)
for both lines for use in downstream office LBO
calculations. (CLF should be zero with no channels
equipped.)
6 For safety purposes, the APSD must be ENABLED after
power measurements have been taken. Enter the
SECURITY.Enter.System command at this time to
ENABLE the APSD feature. See Danger
on previous
page.
7 Move to the next office and the next section based on
the following:

If the next site is a Repeater, go to “Repeater A
Direction Connection Procedure”

Is the Next site is the AGNE End Terminal Office,
go to “AGNE Office Receive OA Connection
