Check Battery
Return Cable
Connection Follow the procedures listed below to check the Battery Return Cable Connection
for OLS only installations:
NOTE:
Since the power cable is tied together for both shelves if there are two OLS
shelves in the same equipment bay frame, the battery return measurement
only needs to be taken on the Lower Shelf.
NOTE:
For OT only installation, proceed to the OT Check Battery Return Cable
Connection Section.

Step Action Reference
1 On the lower shelf (if there is more than one shelf in the
same bay), remove the two screws from the fuse panel
cover. Remove the cover. This will allow access to the
two Power Filters.
Power Filter A is on the top; Power Filter B is located
below it.
2 Remove the spade lug terminal from the bottom terminal
of the A (Top) Power Filter. The wire color is BLACK and
the end terminal is labeled -48VR. Using an Analog
Ohmmeter, measure the resistance from the wire end to
the unpainted cabinet frame ground.
NOTE:
Digital Multimeter may cause erroneous readings.
Requirement: The resistance shall measure less than
one (1) ohm.
3 After completing the measurement, restore connection
to the Power Filter
