OT Miscellaneous Discrete Tests
Background
NOTE:
This test does not apply to Release 3.0 and subsequent releases using
integrated OLS/OT systems.
The testing of the miscellaneous discrete contacts is performed as a combined
OT/OLS test using a fully tested OLS. The test verifies:
n
The operation of the miscellaneous discretes on each OTU circuit board
and at each OT slot connector
n
The wiring to the EMDU
n
The EMDU itself
n
The TBOS link to the WaveStar OLS 40G
n
The WaveStar OLS 40G software
n
To start testing of miscellaneous discretes the following steps must have
been completed:

The WaveStar OLS 40G must be installed and tested.
n
The WaveStar OLS 40G must be loaded with Release 2.0 or greater
software.
n
Wiring to the EMDU from the OT must be complete as described in
Appendix D for Dantel EMDU information, or Appendix E for Harris EMDU
information.
n
Wiring to the EMDU from the WaveStar OLS 40G and the –48 Volt supply
voltage must be complete as specified in Appendix D or E.
n
Switch and strap settings on the EMDU must be completed as described in
Appendix D or E. If switch setting must be changed, the DANTEL EMDU
must be powered down for the new settings to be activated.
n
The OLS and OT are not integrated as defined in OLS R3.0 and
subsequent releases.
