WaveStar OLS 40G Fiber and Circuit Pack Installation

Installation
End Terminal
Description The WaveStar OLS 40G End Terminal combines and separates up to 16 OC-48/
STM-16 signals, transmitting and receiving up to 516,096 voice channels
simultaneously on one optical fiber. All WaveStar OLS 40G transmission uses
fiber jumpers connected to circuit pack faceplates. Connection is made using a
removable Optical Line Build-Out (LBO).
Repeater
Description The WaveStar OLS 40G Repeater provides optical amplification of the combined
optical signal. All WaveStar OLS 40G transmission uses fiber jumpers connected
to circuit pack faceplates. Connection is made to a removable Optical Line Build-
Out (LBO).
Dual Facing Shelf
Description The WaveStar OLS 40G Dual Facing Shelf provides a means of combining back-
to-back, co-located, 2-fiber End Terminals into a single shelf. This allows the DCC
to go from one WaveStar OLS 40G subnetwork across to another WaveStar OLS
40G subnetwork, allowing the concatenation of subnetworks. It comes in a variety
of configurations supported by Release 2.1 and subsequent releases.
Telemetry Feed-
Through The WaveStar OLS 40G Telemetry Feed-Through provides a means of combining
back-to-back, co-located, 4-fiber End Terminals. This allows the DCC to go from
the End Terminal of one WaveStar OLS 40G subnetwork across to the End
Terminal of another WaveStar OLS 40G subnetwork, allowing the concatenation
of subnetworks. It is a feature of Release 3.0 and subsequent releases.
