128.255.255.2  is  the  IP  address  of  PC  Ethernet  card.    …  indicates  that 
output ICMP packet doesn’t receive response information after timeout. 

 

 

If hardware connection is normal, test software 

Check  whether  the  configured  IP  addresses  of  PC  and  switch  Ethernet 
interface  are  correct.  The  network  addresses  of  these  two  IP  addresses 
should  be  the  same,  and  only  the  host  addresses  are  different.  If  the 
above conditions are met, and no packet is returned or packet loss is not 
serious when test machine pings the Ethernet interface of the switch, this 
indicates that the configuration of switch Ethernet interface is not correct. 
 

 

After  confirming  that  the  configuration  of  Ethernet  interface  is 

wrong, locate the fault as follows: 

(1) Whether the protocol is matching 
Currently,  Ethernet  interface  supports  two  IP  frame  types,  including 
Ethernet_II and Ethernet_SNAP. Signamax switches can accept these two 
IP  packets  at  the  same  time,  but  only  send  one  type  that  the  user 
specifies.  Please  make  sure  that  the  IP  packet  sending  format  of  the 
switch is the same as other terminals of Ethernet. 
 
 (2) Whether Ethernet works normally 
The  Ethernet  interfaces  of  Signamax  switches  support  various  kinds  of 
rates  and  full-duplex/half-duplex  working  mode.  Its  working  mode  and 
transmitting  rate  can  be  auto-sensing  via  auto-negotiation.  If  the 
configuration is auto-sensing, users need to check if configured rate and 
working mode are consistent. (If connected via switch or Hub, the switch 
and  hub  has  auto-sensing  capability).  Besides,  switch  supports  cross-
connection  mode  (MDIX),  please  check  whether  the  configuration  is 
correct.
