starts.  After  the  upgrade  ends,  set  the  attributes  of  the  Hyper  Terminal 
back to the initial setting, and restart the switch. 
 
You  can  judge  whether  the  ROOT  program  is  upgraded  successfully 
according  to  the  information  “Monitor  version

Example of Application 

Step 1: Run and configure TFTP/FTP server. 

 

Either Signamax  TFTP  server, CISCO  TFTP  or  other TFTP/FTP  server  can 
be  used  to  upgrade  the  bin  file  of  application.  We  take  Signamax  TFTP 
server  as  an  example  to  describe  the  upgrade:  Open  Signamax  TFTP 
server, click “

Option  (O)

” button on tool bar, and the following interface 

appears. Configure “

Public  path

” in the directory of the program which 

needs  to  be  upgraded;  configure  “

server  IP  address

”  as  the  local  PC 

address; configure “

server  port

” as the TFTP server port 69; the others 

can  be  configured  with  mode  parameters.  Click  “

OK  (O)

”  to  close  the 

“

option

” window and return to the main window. 

 
Step  2:

  Make  the  TFTP  server  be  in  the  listening  state.  Click  the 

“

Listen(L)

” button on the tool bar, and the interface shows as follows: 

 
Step 3: 

Connect to Network 

Connect the PC serving as the TFTP server to the switch via the Ethernet 
(or other manners) to ensure both can ping each other. 

 
Step 4: 

Upgrade the application program 

Enter “sysupdate <TFTP/FTP server address> <the name of the file to be 
upgraded> image” in the privilege user mode of the switch. We take MP 
065-7434 Signamax 24-Port 10/100 L3 Switch upgrade through TFTP as 
an example:
