Overview 

Open  Shortest  Path  First  (OSPF)  is  a  dynamic  routing  protocol  based 
on  link  status,  which  is  used  to  calculate  routes  in  the  single 
Autonomous System (short for AS).  
 
OSPF  Version2  complies  with  rfc2328  and  also  supports  the  OSPF 
expanding functions defined by RFC, such as NSSA (rfc3101).  

 

The following lists the supported OSPF functions: 

 

Stub area: Support the stub area functions defined by rfc2328 

 

Route  re-distribution:  The  routes  learned  via  any  IP  routing  protocol 
can be re-distributed to any other IP routing protocol. It means that in 
one  area,  OSPF  can  bring  in  RIP  route,  and  accordingly,  the  OSPF 
route can be brought in by RIP. 

 

Authentication: The  neighbors  in  one  area  support text authentication 
and MD5 authentication. 

 

OSPF  interface  parameter  configuration:  Configure  the  parameters  on 
OSPF  interface,  such  as  output  coast,  re-transmission  interval, 
transmission  delay,  priority,  hello  interval,  neighbor  dead  time,  and 
authentication password; 

 

Virtual  connection:  Supports  the  virtual  connection  to  the  backbone 
area; 

 

Incomplete stub area: Supports NSSA area and complies with rfc3101; 

 

Demand lines: Supports demand lines and complies with rfc1793; 

 

Function of control database overflowing: complies with rfc1765;
