To configure the version used by RIP globally as V1

To configure the version used by RIP globally as V2

Default status

】

RIP version is 1.

ip rip authentication mode

This command is used to configure the protocol packet authentication mode of RIP V2 on the

interface. The command needs to be used with the

ip rip authentication key

ip rip

authentication key-chain

command.

The no format of the command is used to cancel the protocol packet authentication of RIP V2

on the interface.

as the MD5 encryption authentication mode

Caution

When performing MD5 authentication, pay attention to the following:

MD5 authentication information needs to carry key ID. When using the

ip rip authentication

key

command to configure the password, key ID is 1; when using the

ip rip authentication

key-chain

command to configure the password, the key ID is the key ID of the password on

key-chain.

When getting the packet sending authentication password from Key-chain, the minimum valid

sending password of Key ID is got.
