Syntax 

Description

The address of Tacacs server

The  key  used  by  the  communication  between  the  switch

The  TCP  port  number  used  when  connecting  the  Tacacs 
background program

To set the timeout for waiting the Tacacs server response

By default, the port number is 49 and the timeout is 5 

seconds.

Global configuration mode 

 Note 

The  key  configured  on  the  router  should  be  consistent  with  that  on  the 
Tacacs server. 
 
Multiple Tacacs servers can be configured, and the system can select one 
of  them  for  system  authentication  according  to  the  configuration 
sequence;  when  one  server  fails,  the  system  can  select  the  next  one 
automatically till the last one fails.

This  command  is  used  to  configure  the  Tacacs  encryption  key.  The  no 
form of the command is used to delete the Tacacs encryption key.
