In the next sampling period, only half of the upper limit packets from the host in the

blacklist can be processed by the CPU, and other packets are discarded. The port

monitoring program processes counting and discarding according to the packet classes.

Port monitoring divides packets into six classes:

Broadcast-packet:

Bits of the destination MAC address are all 1.

•

Multicast-packet:

The lowest bit of the highest byte in the destination MAC address is

•

Admin-packet:

The destination IP address is IP address of VLAN interface on the

switch

•

Forward-packet:

The destination IP address is not the IP address of VLAN interface

on switch

•

Other-packets:

Other packets except the above four kinds.

•

The entirety of above all packets is total-packet.
