To  configure  the  maximum  number  of  the  routes  in  the  RIP  route  database. 
After exceeding the value, the new routes cannot be learned. The value range is 
1-65535. 

warning-percent 

To  configure  the  alarm  percentage  when  the  routes  in  the  RIP  route  database 
are overfull. When exceeding the value, generate the alarm. The value range is 
1-100.

neighbor 

This command is used  to configure the neighbor to which the  route information is notified in 

unicast  form.  Notifying  the  neighbor  of  the  route  information  is  performed  only  on  the 

interfaces covered by the RIP. And “passive-interface” cannot block the sending of this kind of 

packets. Therefore, the command is often used with the “passive-interface” command. 

 

The no format of the command is used to cancel the neighbor notifying the route information 

in the unicast form.

To configure the IP address of the interface directly connected to the neighbor 
of notifying the route information in unicast form

This command is used to configure the direct-connected network or interface covered by RIP. 

Covering the interfaces is equivalent to covering all direct-connected networks on the interface. 

 

The notified route information of RIP is notified based on the IP address of the interface. 

 

The  direct-connected  route  generated  by  the  IP  address  configured  via  the 

ip  unnumber

 

command is not notified out as the direct-connected network information. 

 

When  receiving  RIP  protocol  packets,  check  whether  the  source  address  of  the  packet  is 

directly  connected  to  the  receiving  interface,  that  is,  check  whether  they  are  in  the  same 

subnet.  If it is the point-to-point interface and when they are not in the same  subnet,  check 

whether it matches with the peer address of the interface. When some link layers cannot learn 

the point-to-point interfaces of the peer address in the different subnets, it is necessary to use 

the 

ip  route  peer-address

  command  to  configure  the  peer  IP  address  and  configure  the
