By default, the port automatically calculates the path cost according to port rate. You can

configure the standard adopted when calculating the path cost. Currently, there are two

standards:

dot1D-1998: The bridge calculates the default path cost of the port according to IEEE802.1D-

1998;

dot1T-2001: The bridge calculates the default path cost of the port according to IEEE802.1T-

2001.

You can use the following commands to configure the standard adopted by the bridge to

calculate the default path cost of the port. The no format of the command can be used to

recover the default value.

spanning-tree pathcost method {dot1D-1998 | dot1T-2001}

By default, the bridge adopt IEEE802.1T to calculate the path cost of the

port.

When the port is configured with Path Cost, it adopts the configured value.

Path cost is related with port link rate. On the device that supports MSTP, the port can have

different path costs in different spanning tree examples. You can use the following command

to configure the example path cost of the port. The no format of the command can be used to

recover the default value.
