To configure the sub route type of RIP re-distributing other protocol routes

timers basic
This command is used to configure the time of RIP timer. In one RIP routing domain, the
timer basic configurations on all switches should be consistent. The no format of the
command is used to recover the default value of the RIP timer time.

Syntax Description
update-interval
The interval of sending routine route information update; the unit is second and
the value range is 5-2147483647.
invalid-interval
The route valid time; the value should be at least three multiples of
update
. If
the route is not refreshed by the response packets within valid time, the route is
labeled as invalid route and notified as inaccessible. But the route is still used to
forward packets, that is, is not deleted from the core route table until the route
is deleted (flush timer times out) from the RIP route database. The unit is
second and the value range is 5-2147483647.
holddown-interval
The time of suppressing invalid route to be updated; when the route becomes
invalid because
invalid
times out, enter the suppressing update status, set the
roite metric of the route table as 16 hops. When the route is deleted from the
database, the route can be deleted from the route table. In the suppressing
update state, the invalid route does not allow being updated until the holddown
time is exhausted. The unit is second and the value range is 0-2147483647. If
holddown
is set as 0, the route does not have suppression update period.
flush-interval The reserving time of the invalid route before being cleared; the value should be
larger than the value of holddown. Otherwise, the invalid route is updated by the
new route before the suppression update period runs out. The unit is second
and the value range is 5-2147483647.

version
This command is used to configure the version used by RIP globally. The command should
be configured consistently on all switches in one RIP routing domain. RIP v2 and no auto-
summary are recommended. The no format of the command is used to recover the
default value of the version used by RIP globally.
