Overview

LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) is the link layer protocol. It

organizes

the

information

the

local

device

TLV

(Type/Length/Value, type/length/value), encapsulates it in LLDPDU

(Link Layer Discovery Protocol Data Unit) and then sends it to direct-

connected neighbors. Meanwhile, it saves the LLDPDU received from

the neighbor in the form of standard MIB (Management Information

Base). The device can save and manage the information of itself and

its direct-connected neighbor device via LLDP so that the network

management system can query the current network connection

status of the second layer.
